MARIGOLDTagetes

Long esteemed but not scientifically proven as a successful companion plant with potatoes, roses and tomatoes. Now recent experiments in Holland have shown that eelworm can be reduced by 90% by inter-planting with French Marigold. Foliage scent is also an effective insect deterrent. Marigolds prefer a sunny, open site, preferably on a cultivated, fertile soil, but will well in most soil.
